Labor Day is also called May Day, and it is on May 1 of every year when workers around the world form a solidarity to improve their poor working conditions and status.
In the past, workers exploited by enterprise began to pool their abilities to protect their interests from poor working conditions and low pay. In 1884, each labor organization in the United States decided a general strike for the realization of an eight hour working day and appointed May 1, 1886, as the first day of the protest. The second International Congress in Paris in 1889 designated May l as ‘May day’ to commemorate the American labor movement, and it continues to this day.
