Day with Culture, or Day of Culture, is on the last Wednesday of every month. It was designated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism since January 2014 to lower the cost of cultural facilities across the country and spread culture in people's lives. Here, I will introduce various culture events that you can enjoy in Gunsan. I hope you will regularly enjoy a cultural life through Culture Day once a month.
First, I will introduce Gunsan Modern History Museum. The Gunsan Museum of Modern History shows Gunsan as the largest modern cultural resource in the country. Within a 200-meter radius, there are several historical sights, including the Gunsan Museum of Modern Art, the Gunsan Museum of Modern and Contemporary Architecture, the Wibong Ship, and the Gunsan 3.1 Movement Centennial Memorial Hall. The Gunsan Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art was the 18th in Japan to receive approval for establishment as a bank, and seventh in Joseon Dynasty in 1907. The Gunsan Modern Architecture Hall is used as an exhibition hall to remember modern architecture and banking materials, and the Gyeongsul Nationality. The Wibong Ship is located in Jinpo Maritime Theme Park. Built in the United States in 1945, the ship carried out both combat missions and Navy training and practice missions for 48 years. The 100th anniversary of the March 1 Independence Movement in Gunsan displays the history of Gunsan, the site of the first March 1st Movement south of Seoul. The Museum of Modern is more convenient because it moves automatically, so many people use it. The third activity is the aerial descent experience. The experience is also called the ‘Sky Sun Line’. It is an activity in which you wear a safety device and climb 45 meters high, and then descend over the beach along a 700-meter-long wire. Flying in the sky like a bird is an unforgettable memory. Once you get to know the simple safety procedures, you can easily experience it, from children to adults. The price is 20,000 won per person, and if you make a group reservation, you can experience it at 18,000 won, 2,000 won off. The fourth is Daebong Observatory. If you go up to the observatory, you can see Seonyoudo Beach easily. The height is History, the Museum of Modern Art and the Wibong Ship are open for free on the last Wednesday of every month and it is open until later than usual.
The second place I will introduce is Gunsan City Library. On Culture Day, national and public libraries across the country, including Gunsan, operate night-opening and cultural programs. The Gunsan City Library has a free movie screening at 4 p.m. on the last
Wednesday of every month. The library under the Gunsan City Library also prepares free movie screenings as cultural activities, as well as various other events such as goods. Under the theme of Meet the Picture Book and the Book Art, the 2019 Culture Day is held at the Sulim Library's Infant Archives from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the last Wednesday of every month. You can find out more about the program and how to participate in the event on a cultural day not high, so it can be climbed in about 20 to 30 minutes. Those who enjoy hiking often visit the mountain and enjoy the scenic view to relax. I recommend you visit Seonyoudo, where a beautiful view of the four seasons are waiting for us. You will be able to heal in your daily life through the scenery and thrilling activities that will give you a sound mind. on the Gunsan City Library website.
The last place I will introduce is Gunsan Arts Center. It is a institution that enhances the cultural status of Gunsan citizens. The Gunsan Arts Center offers a variety of cultural events, including musicals and concerts. Tickets for the Day of Culture concert are distributed an hour before the concert at the site on the same day, and it is recommended that you refer to the website of the Seoul Arts Center in Gunsan for more details.
We hope many of our school's students enjoy the cultural days in their busy lives, experience various things, and spend time with their family and friends once a month on the last Wednesday of the month
