How To Get Good Grades

- Interview with a model student -

As the university starts the first semester, it will take its first midterm exam. In particular, freshmen are not accustomed to the new education environment, so they can not understand how the test works and how they can effectively do it. In this respect, I talked about how to get good grades with a good student.

Q. Could you introduce yourself briefly?

A: Hello. My name is Jongho Park and I am currently attending the Public Administration in Kunsan University. When I was entering the school, I majored in department of undeclared majors and selected the Public Administration in second grade.

Q. What grade are you currently earning?

A: When I was the first-year student, Unfortunately, I got a score of 4.4 points because I got one A on the first semester and I worked hard on the second semester, so I got 4.5 points.

Q. What is the most important part of your effort to get good grades?

A: What I try to do for that is dedication to class. Also, if you don't know what you do, don't hesitate to ask questions and understand them certainly. And you should look carefully at the learning objectives and the point distribution listed in the syllabus. Depending on the professor, the importance of the test may be either low or high, and the weight of the presentations or tasks could be bigger.

Q. What else do you have any difference when you study with others?

A: I don't think I'm different from others, and I do a lot of reviews. I review the lessons that I learned during the day while studying at the high public officer class of Hwangryong. And I try to read and write 4 more times during the exam period. First, I glance at the book quickly. Second, I underline the book at the same time as I reading it. Third, take notes in your notebook and read it again. Finally, summarize the contents of your notes and review them again. So if you following this review and four steps, you can fully understand with your lesson.

Q. What is a difficult thing when you studying?

A: Because I write and read a lot, so I take more times than other people. Therefore, I often feel that I lack time to study and I have a cramp in my finger frequently. Also, I sitting for a long time to study, I've got a bad back.

Q. Please let me know what your tips for selecting good courses.

A: Rather than taking a good course, it is really helpful for you to take a lesson that you want. If you take classes what you want, and you'll have more fun than others. It's better to select classes to fit in harmony, not just for fun as well as not to be tied up the class. Or maybe it's a good idea to ask older alumnus of your alma mater for advice.

Q. Is there anything else you want to say lastly?

A: I am always worried about the intermediate exam in university. Because I don't know the professor's inclination and it's hard to predict how the tests will be taken. Therefore, you should concentrate more on your class. Check the part of the professor emphasizing and review one more time before the exam. After finishing the test, you will achieve not only good grades but also with happiness.
