Independence Activists Who Sacrificed Themselves for Their Country

 The sacrifice of many people was inevitable before we gained freedom. It would not be an exaggeration to say that we could study for individual dreams at the present university because of their sacrifice. In this article, let's look at the April 11 incident, one of the anniversaries we should remember.

 First, April 11, referred to the 4.11 incident. April 11, 1919, the day when the Provisional Government was established in Shanghai, China. This is the day when the Provisional Assembly established a provisional government by enacting and promulgating a constitution accompanied by the Prime Minister in the morning of April 11, 1919, after overnight deliberation on the 10-Article Provisional Charter.

 The government set the anniversary of the establishment of the Provisional Government as April 13, 1989, but academia said that April 11 was the date of the establishment of the Provisional Government from April 13 to April 11.

 As the April 11th Movement was established to commemorate the legitimacy and historical significance of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, which was established as the March 1st Movement, it would be meaningful for us to remember this incident and to have time to learn and remember independence activists.

 First, Yoon Bong-gil, one of the independence activists that we are familiar with, is an independence activist related to the Tutan residence in Hongkou Park, Japanese colonial era. When the March 1st Movement broke out, he dropped out of school and worked on the peasant revival movement. After that, he carried out independence movements in various regions, such as Qingtao and Shanghai. After that, in April 1932, he joined the Korean Patriotic Corps and dropped a lunchbox bomb at the Japanese king's birthday event, he was arrested immediately, and was executed at the Osaka Garrison.

 Next is Yu Gwan-sun, a female independence activist. She worked hard as amember of Ewha Womans University and was caught by Japanese police during the Manse Movement, but soon released. On April 1, 1919, she was arrested as the leader of the independence demonstration, was severely tortured during the independence movement in prison, and Yu Gwan-soon died in 1920 at the young age of 18 due to long torture and malnutrition.

 In addition, many people who sacrificed for the Republic of Korea, including Ahn Jung-geun, Lee Bong-chang, and Kim Gu. They are the ones who allowed us to live freely in this era. So I hope you have to remember and respect those people in our history although you are busy modern people.
