Movie recommendations for the perfect winter vacation

 Tests have ended and the winter vacation is started. If you didn’t choose what to do in your free time, how about watching a movie? I will introduce 3 successful movies and 1 upcoming success movie.

 Success 1 – Parasite (2019) : 10,084,602

 This movie received a ‘Golden palm’ before it was released in South Korea. There are a few funny things in this movie, but it makes us think.

 The story is about someone with a part-time job, teaching in a rich family. Later, his sister becomes an art therapist for the family, his mother became a housekeeper for the family, and his father became a personal driver for the family. This is employment fraud because none of the family are qualified for their roles. But the main point of the movie is that there is a real ‘parasite’ in that house. (Caution: There are a few cruel parts in this movie.)

 Success 2 – Assassination (2015) Audience : 12,706,819

 This movie is based on the Japanese colonial era. The Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea sends three people to assassinate a Japanese leader. Their names are Soksapo, Okyun An and Deoksam Hwang. They face danger because they are betrayed.

 There is a subplot in this movie also. Ms. An meets her unknown twin at a department store while she went there for her glasses. This story seems small, but it becomes a big part of the ending.

 Success 3 – Masquerade (2012) Audience : 12,324,002

 This movie's star is the 15th king of the Joseon dynasty, Gwanghegun. He is famous for being the most violent in the 500 years of the Joseon dynasty. He was looking for someone identical to him, and he finally found Haseon. Haseon was from the lowest class of people, so he was unfamiliar with the royal behavior. But towards the end, he exposes his thoughts.

 The movie’s stars are leading actors. They teach us the lessons and our mind 
is moved by their warm acts.

 Upcoming 1 – Mt. Baekdu (2019) Audience: ?

 There are two viewpoints in this movie. First, this movie has a lot of famous Korean actors that have not worked together before. It has an interesting story and a variety of characters. Second, the bold story is about the dormant volcano Mt. Baekdu’s erupting. The movie has a big budget.

 In the list of successful Korean movies, the 1st to 16th had more than 10,000,000 viewers. In the top 50 movies, you can see many historical movies and that means Koreans are interested in history. If you want to understand Korea deeply, I recommend you watching a Korean movie.
