The Pain and Reality of the Earth
Most greenhouses that grow vegetables or flowers are made of glass or vinyl. The sun's rays can pass through the glass and enter the greenhouse, but the wind is blocked and cannot enter. Therefore, the temperature inside the greenhouse rises, growing plants and maintaining the proper temperature unlike outside. Also, it makes sense to go inside a car parked under the scorching sun in the middle of summer. The handle is too hot to touch and the seat is so hot that it stings. This is the greenhouse. It may be a bit exaggerated, but if our Earth gets this hot, can humans live?
Global warming is a phenomenon in which the average temperature of the Earth's surface rises. It also includes problems caused by rising temperatures, such as changes in the ecosystem on land or water, or changes in the coastline due to rising sea levels.
So what is the cause of global? One of the causes of warming is the increase in greenhouse gases. It is believed that the impact of the greenhouse effect has grown as the industrial development has led to the use of fossil fuels such as oil and coal and the destruction of forests through agricultural development. The cause of warming has yet to be clearly identified, but greenhouse gases that cause the greenhouse effect are considered the most likely causes.
Carbon dioxide is the most representative of greenhouse gases and the amount continues to grow with the industrialization of mankind. In addition, methane and water vapor are representative greenhouse gases. In particular, Freon gas, which has begun to be used in modern times, causes the greatest greenhouse effect per molecule.
In fact, global warming has existed before industrial society, but since the Industrial Revolution, the speed has been accelerating due to increased use of fossil fuels such as coal and oil and deforestation.
Currently, the global community is focusing its efforts on developing alternative energy and carbon dioxide fixation technologies as a way to prevent global warming. It also emphasizes energy conservation around the world to raise awareness about global warming.
One of the biggest problems caused by global warming is rising sea levels, which are expected to occur as glaciers melt as temperatures rise. This rise in sea levels will affect the lives of people living on islands or coasts, especially in cities close to the coast. Also, many animals and plants, including polar bears and penguins, are endangered. In the case of Korea, winter is expected to disappear, deserts can occur, and natural disasters such as typhoons and droughts are expected to increase.
The most important solution to prevent global warming is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, one can think of saving energy, recycling waste, using environment-friendly products and developing new energy. Another method is saving and improving efficiency. They include reducing the amount of energy used or making products that consume less energy, and in the case of automobiles, reducing the amount of carbon dioxide emitted when internal combustion engines operate.
Let's work together to prevent global warming by using personal tumblers and shopping baskets in our daily lives, reducing the use of disposable products.
