What is the SPIED?

Last August, the SPIED camp, a joint camp of Korea, China and Japan was hosted by Kunsan University. This program was sponsored by LINC of Kunsan University (Executive Director, Dongik Kim) and six universities including Jiangsu University of China, Yamaguchi University of Japan, Chungbuk University, Jeonbuk University, University of Seoul and Kunsan University  participated in the camp.

The SPIED program is an innovative educational program that aims to come up with creative ideas for various countries and study as a team of students with different majors from different countries to solve practical engineering problems. They can also learn an international cooperation.

Activity Schedule

During the first week, students participated in learning the basic engineering tools for production work through lectures given by professors from Korea, China and Japan. Then during the second week, they drew creative ideas through specific activities and made them work.

The Schedule of Beginner class.

Benefits of the Camp

The SPIED program is different from other existing programs that requires students to work on a specific topic. It is an open program to maximize the participants’ creativity.

Above all, students are expected to present new ideas beyond their cultural through free brainstorming and activities.

Next SPIED camp will be held at Yamaguchi University in Japan in 2016.
