COVID-19 and the Animals

 We are having a hard time because of COVID-19. Like the slogan ‘Far away, but close mind’ old saying, the Earth has influenced much less than before the COVID-19. Because of this, the animals we couldn’t see often are found these days. In contrast, there are some animals which are suffered from starvation, even death. In this article, let’s think about the animals, not the human.

Bright side 1. Downtown = The world of the animals

 There have found animals often that we couldn’t find these days in Chile, Colombia and worldwide. (Puma, Fox, Anteater, and Opossum) Not only just one animal has found individually but also there has found a herd of goats sheep and deer. Especially the sheep in the UK, they had a party at the playground. You can see in the picture too. On the sea, the stop of the sailing makes dolphin and jellyfish be found.

Bright side 2. The birth of endangered species

 In the past, the Hawksbill Sea Turtle has almost destroyed by Japanese and Chinese. Because their flesh was a delicacy and their shell was for admiration to them. But the curfew of the beach makes 97 Hawksbill Sea Turtle’s birth.

 And the panda couple, which their species survived only about 1,800 worldwide succeeded to have their baby after a 10-year hiatus.

Dark side 1. The Shelter and the rescue center for abandoned animals

 The Shelter for abandoned animals have has to be put down because there were many animals that they can’t care about. But the virus makes people can’t go to the shelter or the center, and the rescued or adopted animals have decreased. And also, the volunteers, donation, or the contribution has declined of course.

Dark side 2. Zoo, Pet shop, etc.

 The zoo is surviving with the admission fee. It means that animals’ food and all the member’s monthly pay, etc. are from there. So the zoo which is located in Germany has announced if they are on its way, they should slaughter their animals and save other animals. (They have prioritized their animals.)

 Certain pet shops, after 2 weeks of curfew the animal rescue team rescued some animals in there. And they guessed they were suffered from everything. They didn’t have any light, wind, food, or water for 2 weeks.

 We, people, have developed tunnel, etc. with the protection of the ecosystem. Likewise, I knew there was some protection for them when we develop something. But are they for the animals or the human?

 Maybe, we don’t ‘live’ with them, but ‘push’ them. It is time to think about the Earth and the animals. The small think and the small responsibility can make us live together. Now, and after the COVID-19.
