There are many countries in the world. There are many celebrations in the many countries. There are celebrations in Korea. But we don't know about every celebration. One of the less well-known celebrations is Farmers' Day.

Farmers' Day is November 11, the day we know as Pepero Day. This day was created by the Pepero manufacturer's marketing activities, which made it famous. However, November 11 is also a day for farmers. The reason why the 11th of November was established as the anniversary is because it is a good time for farmers to relax and enjoy their harvest. Also, the Chinese characters with the meaning of the soil also have a date of 11, November 11.

Various commemorative events are held every year under the auspices of South Korea's Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. They hold events to help farmers find support to contribute to the development of agriculture and rural areas; give prizes or prize money; and boost farmers' morale. Through the Farmers' Day event, the government and institutions such as the Korea Agricultural Cooperative Federation overcome the growing pressure on agricultural trade cooperation and openness, including the DDA, FTA, and rice negotiations. It also promotes the policy of continuous agricultural development. However, the most important thing to notice in these events is that we should keep the status of agriculture and focus on the importance and merits of agriculture to the people.

These days, Korean music, food, and information technology are gaining global attention, but agriculture is not. That is why we should focus more on these events and pay more attention to agriculture through them. In addition, under these difficult circumstances, we should try to promote our agriculture and pay attention to the pride and efforts of farmers engaged in agriculture.

Despite many difficulties, there are people who work hard to promote the excellence of Korean agriculture. Some of these people are close to us in Gunsan in Jeollabuk-do where our school belongs.

Six companies from Gunsan participated in the 46th LA Korean Festival Agricultural and Fishery Products Expo held at Seoul International Park in Los Angeles from Sept. 26 to 29.

Kang Im-joon, mayor of Gunsan, attended the LA Korean Festival and promoted the city's agricultural and fishery products during the opening ceremony, and KBS America interviews were broadcast throughout the U.S. In addition, the mayor visited the LA Trade Center of KOTRA and the LA branchof the Korea Tourism Organization to promote products from Gunsan to support the participating companies.

This year, a public relations officer from Gunsan City went to the festival venue to introduce Saemangeum and Gunsan time travel, and this is claimed to have received great acclaim by showcasing Gunsan's superior products and other products during the expo. The six companies that participated this time promoted the excellence of Gunsan's agriculture and fisheries.

Furthermore, Gunsan City made an effort to consult with buyers of four local companies to seek export services.

Why don't we pay attention to Korea's agricultural and fishery products in response to such efforts? Also, why don't you step back to a nearby event, remembering that November 11 was not Pepero Day but Farmers' Day?
