The Origin of English Football

Many claim to be the origin of football when and where it was made. Representatively, football derived from ancient Roma and Greece in 5th or 6th century B.C, but China's football, whose history of football began in 2nd century B.C., is older than the ancient Greece. Although there are many origins, the origin of English Football is more reliable. This origin derived from the Denmark tyrannyin which the British were abused and mistreated. They kicked skulls of their remnant enemy and celebrated their victory after the Danish’s evacuation. Over time, the English Football Association(FA) completed modern soccer correcting the disorder and chaos of the earliest soccer.

The English Premier League

Soccer originated from England and its soccer league is called the English Premier League (EPL). The English Premier League is one of the Europe's four biggest leagues among the Spainish Premera Liga, Italian Serie A, and German Bundesliga. EPL started in 1992 and is consisted of 20 clubs. Manchester City FC, Everton FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC, Arsenal FC, Chelsea FC, Liverpool FC, and Manchester United FC represent the successful clubs in the EPL. Success is based on the Premier League's academic organization. The Premier League's academy has helped young players develop into prominent soccer players. Some of these famous soccer players include Wayne Rooney, Ji Seong Park, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ruud van Nistelrooy, and David Beckham. Those players currently playing in the EPL now are Seong-yong Ki (Swansea City AFC), Chung-yong Lee (Crystal Palace), Heung-Min Son (Tottenham Hotspur FC).

British Passion and Citizenship about Soccer

British soccer's distinction has made up soccer fans’ high interest. It is not too much to say that British passion about soccer is the best in the world. You may know that most British soccer fans are males, but it is not true. There are a number of female fans among the British soccer fans. Males and females, the old and young like soccer. Therefore, thousands of British go to the stadium when an important soccer game is held. Tickets can be booked in advance and can be purchased on the spot. The EPL is the best profitable soccer league in the world because there are a lot of soccer fans that go to the stadium to watch games. (EPL's profit is 40 percent higher than Italy Serie A's.) Some British gather at a pub, drink beer and watch soccer games on TV. British gathering at a pub claim that soccer is the most important beer and cigarette. Likewise, many British people are interested in soccer. However, cxcessive interest lead to disasters. Sometimes violent incidents occur between each team's fans. Or fans make racial discrimination and abusive language remarks to opponent players. It make questions that the British is 'the kingdom of gentlemen' indeed. To slove the problem, FA started ‘Respect' campaign in 2007. As a result, ungentlemanly conducts committed by soccer fans and players have been reduced. With the increasing popularity of soccer, British soccer no longer belongs to British alone. EPL's fans are all over the world. Global EPL's fans hear the news of EPL through TV. Therefore, it is never positive to fight between each team's fans and blame opponent players. In 'the Kingdom of Gentlemen,' the origin of football, the United Kingdom, it is very important to respect soccer players and fans to developthe EPL and grow a high level of citizenship.
