Hwang Ryong Festival

2015 Hwang Ryong Festival was held on September 23 to 25. It's the biggest festival of the second semester. So, student council held opening ceremony to let people know about the beginning of the Festival. They carried out a parade walking from Kunsan Commercial High School to Kunsan University with students. Weather was wet and raindrops were falling. But students enjoyed the start of the festival, wearing the clothes with the KNU marks on.

Student Council proceeded a lot of events. Finding every day relevant student “wanted.”, covering the KUN best taste “absolute taste.”, Covering the best scab “absolute scab.”, feel the festival atmosphere “face painting and henna”, to fit the festival to decorate body “color beads and handmade things”, asolutely dispensable “helium balloon”. They made a festival that students can enjoy.

Wednesday was the first day of the festival. From 7.p.m. clubs’ performances were started. At the middle stage, students showed off a variety of performances. They performed their dancing and singing freely on the stage. Their efforts made it possible for them to shine at the stage and their performances were enough to liven up the festival atmosphere. Also, the performance called 'show me the KNU' went on. It was recreated based on the TV program. Far before the festival begins, 25 teams were selected on a first-come first-serve basis. There was the preliminary on September 14th 7P.M. They chose which teams are going to perform at the festival stage. Standard of Judgement was by screening a copy rap and self- made rap of the existing sound source. On the stage, students showed passion and talent about hip-hop. Also, singers were invited that match with this festival. Bambino came and made hot atmosphere of the festival. Next Cheetah who won at the TV program called ‘Unprettyrapstar’ came. Cheetah sang her famous song. Also she passed the microphone to students. She enjoyed the festival together. Each department’s students hurriedly moved to prepare for their bars. They opened bars for students and Kunsan citizens. They sold the alcoholic drinks and some food. They cooked food such as Pajeon, Chicken Skewers, Fish Cake Soup, Ramen, Tofu with Stir-fried Kimchi, Sundae bokkeum, Jeyukbokkeum,etc. Though this festival’s students could talk to each other and they could have a time to get to know each other. They ran bars till 2A.M. After that they enjoyed festival themselves.

At the second day of festival, Thursday, just like the first day of the festival, the festival was lightened with clubs’ performances at 7P.M. Bars were busy in preparation on the basis of the day before. At the middle stage, thenew program was advanced, fashion show. Models were wearing clothes that they made. Models were walking through the stage. Models showed their hidden talent in walking. Designers showed their own clothes to people. It showed their abilities. Even, event games were held. Also, singer, Urban Zakapa came. Urban Zakapa is a trio with two men and a woman. Their songs were so touching so many students shared their memories of the festival.Students who were running bars, helped each other.

At the last day of the festivalis on Friday. Some thought there would be not that many students because of holiday, Chuseok, but many students left and the festival was finished successfully. At the middle stage, there was an event game. Also, "2015 KNU Bokmyeongawang" was performed. Before the festival begins, 40 teams were selected on a first-come first-serve basis. It opened the preliminary at September 15th 7P.M. They chose the team to stand on the festival stage. Bokmyeongawang is a variety TV program that shows the power of songs. Students sang a song in a real voice with masks on. After that, singer came to enjoy the festival together. GRAY and Loco made the collaboration stage. Their song seized the stage. Simon Dominic boosted the atmosphere with songs in his recent album. Fireworks made a beautiful night sky for the end of the festival. Students enjoyed the last festival at bars. Students who worked at bars encouraged each other, because they had a hard time during the period of the festival. The festival finished beautifully.

After the festival has passed, students cleaned up the whole campus for smooth school life and a comfortable environment. The festival was fun & difficult. 2015 Hwang Ryong Festival was finished successfully with good memories.
