1. Please introduce yourself!

Hello. My name is Xuxiuowen (쉬시아오원, 徐小雯). I come from China (Yantai). I have been in Korea for 2 years and 6 months. I'm 23 years old in Korean age. My major is in the Department of Ocean Engineering in Chosun and I am in the fourth grade. My hobby is travelling and I visited Seoul with my professor and my friends. It was very funny!

2. Why did you come to Korea and Kunsan University?

In China, I applied to be an exchange student at Kunsan University and went to Korea as an exchange student from China. So I came to Korea, and it has already been 2 years and 6 months since I came to Korea. I learned Hangul for three months at the school's international exchange center to come to Korea and enter Kunsan University because I need a Korean Language Certificate (TOPIK) to enter Kunsan University.

3. What is the culture that impressed you and the culture that was difficult in Korea?

First, when I was in China, high school students were not allowed to date until they became college students, and when I had a romantic relationship, I had to get an education at home or school. But Korean high school students were surprised because they seemed to be in a relationship freely. And in the winter, it was amazing for Korean women to wear short skirts despite the cold weather. Also, Korean restaurants were surprisingly giving cold water – people do not drink cold water well in China. And I like Korean cosmetics and fashion culture.

4. What is your goal in Korea?

I worked at a trading company in Korea last vacation and it was difficult to communicate in Korean. So I want to speak Korean better. And I am graduating from university this semester and I want to go to graduate school. I want to communicate a lot with Korean people and speak Korean better after going to graduate school. I want to get a job in Korea if I have a chance. Korea is a foreign country to me, but I am very interested in it and now I am quite used to my life.
