1. Hello, please introduce yourself.

Hello, I'm NGUYEN THI DIEM QUYNH, majoring in media culture at Kunsan National University. I'm from Vietnam and it has been 4 years since I came to Korea. Good to meet you.

2. Is there a reason why you came to Korea to study?

My close friend is a fan of K-pop. So I went to Korea for a few days to learn Korean little by little and got to know the beautiful country of Korea. At that time, I was just a high school graduate, so I was worried about the future, but my friend advised me to study abroad, so I came to Korea.

3. What do you think is the biggest difference between Korea and your country?

I think it's the human affection. I think Koreans are slightly colder than Vietnamese people. In particular, there is no racism in Vietnam.

Also, you can easily see the difference in food. Korean food is a little spicy with a lot of red pepper powder, but there are many delicious things too. I like chicken, so when I go out with my friend, I often eat chicken. If I go back to Vietnam again, it seems to be the most memorable Korean food. And autumn in Korea is much colder than in Vietnam, and if you adapt to this temperature, you will be able to be more comfortable studying abroad.

4. Do you have any special memories while studying in Korea?

As soon as I came to Korea, I still remember going to see the school festival with my friend. There was almost no contraction because of COVID-19, but I was really happy at that time. It was a very exciting festival to meet Korean friends and sing together at the school festival. There were so many friends who were good at singing and dancing that I thought all Koreans were good at dancing and singing. I could also see K-pop culture well at the festival, so I want to go again if I have a chance.

5. Lastly, please give some advice to students who are thinking about studying in Korea.

I really didn't know anything when I first came to Korea. There were many new and scary things about everything, like a child out of his mother's arms. I wanted to do this and that. I was very ambitious and failed a lot. But now when I think about it, going to Korea to study seems to be the best choice for my life. Also, I thaught about this. "It's better to regret coming here than not." I recommend you to come and experience it. And if you want to study well in Korea, it's good to study Korean hard first. Many Korean friends are kind, so you don't have to worry, meet them comfortably. And I hope you visit many places and make lots of memories while you are here in Korea.
