The 17th Suncheon Bay Reeds Festival

Delicious gardens, dancing reed. On the fall of each year Suncheon Bay is full of romances. The17th Suncheon Bay Reeds Festival is held in Jeollanam-do Suncheon, Suncheon National Gardens and in urban areas, such as areas around Suncheon from November 6 to 8 for three days. Suncheon Bay has preserved the ecological value as one of five coastal wetlands of the world and treasury of nature consisted of vast tidal flats and reeds. Everyone can enjoy the four seasons here. Suncheon Bay National Garden shows the essence of culture of garden as the Korea No. 1 national garden. In particular, ‘Table garden’ held in urban areas will make visitors mesmerized by the taste of Suncheon. This festival’s subtitle is 'meeting reed and Suncheon table.’ It means that the concept of this festival is the eco-tourism festival highlighting music content caused by a travel and cultural trends changes, food industry development with increase in the interest and consumption of food culture. Suncheon not city but garden is planning to graft 'garden' onto ‘culture’ and run festival programs that extend the entire Suncheon in the garden of the food and culture.

Opening Ceremony

Opening ceremony starts with Korean traditional percussion band’s road game ceremony on the main stage.
