Our school has its first support activity called 'UWOOLIM'. The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and the Korea Youth Activity Promotion Institute, and it is hosted by our school's Institute for International Exchange and Education. Participants are made up of 40 Korean students and foreign students, and they will work together from May to October.

On May 7th, various education programs were implemented, including safety education. Students introduced toour staff, teachers, foreign students, and the Korean students themselves, and they got to know each other through the first dinner.

On the 20th, the supporters' activities began in earnest. Each team spent about three hours making Korean and foreign foods with different ingredients. Students' groups and foreign students' groups held a cooking contest to make Korean and foreign food. Some of the representative foods were kimchi pancakes, seafood pancakes and fried rice. Combining the

help, effort and power of many people, this activity finished well.

Each of the Korean and international stu

dents worried and helped each other. Thanks to this, they could build friendships with each other. Also, we could taste various foods and solve the lack of materials by sharing with each other.

However, there was something a little bad - the cooking activities of the students and foreign students were carried out separately.

Chen sijie (Department of logistic.) from China said, “When I first knew that there was a cooking contest, I thought we had a chance to interact with each other. But I was sad that the time to start is 5:30 p.m. when our classes are not over.” She also said, “If there is a similar event next time, I think Koreans and foreigners can do it together, so I hope we can set the time when we start together. And one last thing, I thought that international students would be able to be divided into teams in the cooking contest. But this time, I was sorry because it took some time to get closer each other, because of the delay in organizing the group.”

The next activity is a trip to Seoul from May 31th to June 2nd. Another activity is a trip to Suncheon and Yeosu in September. These trips would make ‘UWOOLIM’ activities more energetic.
