When the month of December comes, there are two days to look forward to. They are Christmas and the winter solstice. These two anniversaries are very special because they are meaningful days at the end of the year. Let's find out about the two anniveressaries that keep us warm during the cold winter.

The winter solstice is the last of the four seasonal terms and is around December 22-23 in the Gregorian calendar. The winter solstice has the longest night and shortest daytime of the year. In Korea, people eat red bean porridge on the winter solstice. This is to scare away ghosts who are afraid of red. In rural villages, red bean porridge is boiled in a large pot and eaten toghether. There are joks that eating red bean porridge adds a year to your age. The winter solstice is a time to end the year warmly by sharing affection.

There is one more day to warm us up. It's Christmas. Christmas is a holiday that celebrates Jesus' birth, every December 25th. Christmas is full of beautiful lights and carols in the streets. There is a miraculous scene in front of you to overcome the cold weather. Also, Christmas is a meaningful day to spend warm time with precious people. Most people remember waiting for Santa Claus when they were young. That may be why Christmas feels special and precious.

Let's hope to end a good year with precious people on days such as the winter solstice and Christmas because they are days when we can take a rest for a while after being so busy. They are good nights to eat warm food and talk about things. If we wrap up December like this, we can expect the beginning of the next year to be more beautiful.
