Warm Streets of Gunsan Recommended in the Fall

 The first attraction we will introduce is 'Gunsan Jjambbong Street'(군산짬뽕거리). For the first time in the country, Gunsan will have its own ‘Jjambbong street’. This dish is made by adding a soup of pork bones or beef bones to noodles with various seafood or vegetables. It is food that can be found in Chinese restaurants in Korea. Gunsan has had several famous 짬뽕집 since long ago. From the late 1890s, the development of Gunsan's Chinese cuisine began when Chinese people from Shandong started living in Gunsan. Also, Chinese people who settled in Gunsan in 1960 made red noodles (초마면) by putting seafood, meat, and red pepper in a Chinese dish which people called 짬뽕. Because of this, Gunsan could be the origin in Korea's 짬뽕 history.

 Gunsan, famous for its '짬뽕', has applied its culture to the upcoming '짬뽕' street. ‘Jjambbong street’ is located in Gunsan Jangmi-dong (Jangmi 1-gil 41). It is located on the side of the modern history museum and Lee Seongdang and is easily accessible by public transportation. Aside from the famous stores that currently exist, the street will be filled with about 11 stores this year. In addition, Gunsan City is planning to hold a '짬뽕' contest by designating '짬뽕' day and plans to develop differentiated 'Jjambbong ' and spread recipes based on Gunsan's rice, barley and wheat. Therefore, we can expect a wider experience.

 The second thing we will introduce is a cafe with various concepts. As the weather gets colder, more and more people are visiting cafes. Near the previously described ‘Jjambbong street’ are cafes featuring a variety of concepts and features.

 The first cafe to introduce is a warehouse-style cafe named ‘올드브릭’. The cafe is located at 35-3 Jangjang-dong. Unlike a regular cafe with perfect interior finish, the cafe features a unique concept with a warehouse style. You will feel the vintage and cozy atmosphere of the cafe, which is not found in other cafes.

 The second cafe is a traditional tea house near the house of Hirotsu, named '처마밑'. The cafe is located at 17-15 Wolmyeong-dong. If you walk around the ‘Jjambbong street’, you will find Japanese-style houses. Old-style buildings and emotions are the main points of this traditional tea house. You will be able to enjoy the atmosphere more than other places.

 The last recommended cafe is a sea-view cafe named '카페 169’. Gunsan is a seaside city, but at most cafes you will not be able to see the sea easily. However, this cafe is a tall building near the beach, so you can easily see the sea. It is a great feature of this cafe that you can enjoy the nice local landscape, not just drinking a drink.
