What are Cherry Blossoms?

You can feel spring is coming with light clothes. The warmer the weather becomes, the more colors you begin to notice. The Fragrance and color of the cherry blossoms definitely enhances the atmosphere of spring. It is loved by people all over the world to his own appearance, and atmosphere. In Korea, people are busy preparing to welcome it every spring. We need to understand the correct information, misunderstanding, history of cherry blossoms.

Cherry blossoms are generally known as symbols of purity, virgin and spring in the West. Religiously flowers are compared to the virgin's beauty and fruit to heavens. Thus, they initially recorded the origin of the Japanese cherry trees is our island. In Japan, people think that cherry blossoms were originated from Sakura so that Japanese has public opinion against Cherry Blossom Festivals in Korea. However, Japan's Sakura is originally from Jeju.

Prunus yedoensi is rosaceae seedlings. It was usually used to make bows. The 17th king of the Joseon, Hyojong tried to plant it in order to make arrows and increase national power.

The world famous Cherry Blossom Festival is the Washington D.C Cherry Blossom Festival. This festival began to celebrate that Japan give Washington three thousand cherry trees for ties. The Potomac River in Washington is covered with cherry blossoms in April each year. Korea's representative Cherry Blossom Festival is Jinhae Gunhang Festival to be in bloom along the railway and Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival to have a garden in the city center and so on. Also, you can enjoy it everywhere in Kunsan.
