Q. Please introduce yourself.

A. Hello, I'm Wendy. I graduated from the Department of Infant Education at Onju University and transferred to the Department of Korean Language and Literature at Gunsan University in September 2017.

Q. Tell me the most memorable day of school.

A. I try to participate in various activities. So I did a lot of activities at school. In October, there was a youth international leader camp in Jeonju for three nights and four days. It was a camp where young people from different
countries gathered to divide into teams and conduct missions.  It was fun and memorable for me to meet young people from different countries through this activity. Also, during winter vacation, the start-up camp remains in my memory. Students from Onju University will visit Gunsan University and team up with Korean students. I listen to lectures and students' presentations on startups while working as a team. I'm the translator for Onju University students and professors to communicate and remove language barriers. I remember seeing the efforts and passion of many students in this activity.

Q. What type of year was 2018?

A. Overall, I had a hard year. I've done a lot of school activities and I am a little tired of human relations. Also I am exchange student, so I had a hard time in economics. I worked about 4 part time jobs a week this summer. On weekdays
I woke up at 6 a.m. and worked as an interpreter at a factory and did chinese tutoring at night. I spent the weekend working at a Kid's Cafe. I'm okay now because I worked less than then, but I was very tired at the time.

Q. What's your goal for 2019?

A. First of all, in 2019, I will be in fourth grade and graduate in the summer. My goal is to study hard for a semester and get a Korean language certificate. And I want to graduate and find a stable job in Korea. I will help others with my ability. I am aiming to become a multi-cultural kindergarten teacher because I like children, and I major in infant education at the university.

Q. Why do you like Korea?

A. Koreans are polite. Typically, honorifics are impressive. I like the way people respect each other even though they are not the people they respect.
Also, I love the weather of four seasons. The place where I lived was so rainy that it was hard to see the sunrise, but it's good to see the sun rise often. And it's good to see snow in winter because I didn't see snow.

Q. Is there anything you want to tell other students about school life?

A. Make many Korean friends. Through many inter-Korean activities, if you go to places where there are many Korean students, you can speak more Korean and adapt better. Also, I recommend traveling a lot in Korea. That way, you can learn more about Korean culture and history. Also, I hope that exchange students will help each other if there is a hard time. I don't think it's easy for exchange students to live in a lonely, strange land. Trust each other, and if there's any hard work, please help.
